Books for an old lady dying of cancer
An old Lady phoned a trustee of Chazak Foundation and requested a 3 wheel walker. The trustee began asking the lady questions and found out that the lady had cancer and had been given three months to live. The Trustee learns that the lady wanted the walker to regain independence and freedom. She wanted to use the walker to travel around town.
The Chazak trustee convinced the lady that she did not need a three wheel walker but rather needs to be with her family. The trustee encouraged the lady to embrace her families support. It is very difficult to ask for help and to allow people to be there. This lady from the discussion began to realize that she needs to allow her family ‘in’ to her life and allow them to assist her. She also began to realize that she needs to spend her time doing things she enjoys rather than walk from one place to another.
The trustee discovered that the lady enjoys is reading. therefore The Chazak trustee donated books to the lady. The lady can now enjoy her days reading.
