Bingo with Chazak

Chazak Foundation had their first fundraiser evening on Thursday, the 18th November 2010.

From the day after the launch of chazak when the bingo date was announced the Chazak committee began to work towards the first official fundraiser: 'BINGO WITH CHAZAK'

The purpose of the fundraiser was to collect funds in order to donate wheelchairs to people and places who need them, begin the process of creating manuals and resource packs to help assist Pre-school teachers to educate children about disabilities, to continue to guide, support and assist people who experience a disability by adapting their home and providing financial, emotional and spiritual support but most of all to make everybody aware of people who experience a disability.

The bingo evening was well attended. There was a great vibe in the hall. There were a few sponsored tables by various companies which enabled people who experience a disability to attend a night filled with normality, fun and happiness.

The prize selection was extensive and of excellent quality. There were many prize winners as there were a variety of bingo games, raffles and lucky bags on offer. Chazak wishes to thank all the generous sponsors. The big prizes were worth R15 500 and the seven other big prizes were worth nothing less than R7000. The bingo games were led by Ivan Solomon, who was entertaining. All the tables had snacks and drinks. The games were played with enthusiasm, excitement and great anticipation. The prize winners were ecstatic with their prizes.

People were impressed with the casual but efficient running of the evening and the quality of prizes. Everyone was very supportive towards the cause. Chazak foundation was able to raise R180 000 which will now enable the foundation to achieve some of the projects. A very big thank you goes to all the participants of the evening.

The evening was a great success, the atmosphere was very positive and all participants left on a high.
